Bone Applé Tea makes up recipe names that sound like they came off a food blogger's Instagram. Yes, there's some AI in here. Here's exactly how little.

A person made the jokes

Every word, template and joke structure was picked by hand, starting with the 2023 originals and adding everything the internet has done to food since. The photo direction was built the same way: a deck of backdrops, tablecloths, dishware and light, taken from studying real food magazines from 2020 to 2022.

The names use no AI

Every name is assembled in your browser from those lists. No model, no server, no energy worth mentioning. Roll as much as you like.

AI only plates, and only when you ask

When you tap Plate it, two AI models make the plate: one writes the intro and one takes the photo. We picked the smallest ones that still get the joke, a text model small enough to run on a good laptop and a photo model not much bigger, instead of the largest ones available. They run on Cloudflare.

Every name is plated once

A plate is made the first time someone asks for it and kept. Everyone who opens that name afterward sees the same photo and intro, so a name that gets passed around a thousand group chats costs one photo, not a thousand.

The kitchen has hours

The kitchen plates up to 500 names a day, and each visitor gets 10. When it's out, it's out until midnight UTC. A joke doesn't need an unlimited supply of computers running flat out.

What we don't do

No ads, no analytics, no accounts. Your cookbook lives in your own browser. To enforce the daily limit, the kitchen counts plates per network address, stored only as a scrambled code that changes every day and is deleted after two.
